can anyone confirm the original wheel and tyre specification on a Nov 2003 325Ci Auto Sport convertible. I have just purchased and have 18in staggered fitted. Is this correct?

Probably yes. Based on the age they are likely to be MV1s or MV2s. Likely to be staggered.
It all depends on what option the original buyer specified (use a BMW VIN Decoder to get the original build spec), and whether a later owner swopped them. There was a big choice of wheels available:

Hi and many thanks. They have definitely been changed to non standard Wheels. Will check Vin and post a Photo of the fitted Wheels.

Have checked and thanks again for your info. The original wheels fitted were MLt/aly. Double Spoke 135W Mixed T 
So now all I have to do is find a set in good condition or renovate sound wheels without cracks or welds or buckle. Cheers Alan C🤞

That will be these:
Commonly known as MV2 wheels. It should be fairly easy to pick up a good set.

I have found a good set of MV2 wheels on Ebay The specification is BMW 1 Series M Sport 17 in 7 and 7.5
If I fit Pirelli 205 & 225 x 50 xR17 would this equate to 205 x 25 x 18R and would they fit my 2003 325iC M Sport and give a more comfortable ride over rough roads? I am totally ignorant on tires and rims so any assistance would be  great.

17" is the wrong size. The BMWstylewheels website gives the size and offset for the E46.
Also look on RealOEM for the part numbers of the wheels and then check you have the correct ones before purchasing.
There should be enough MV2s out there to mean you don't need to go for non-E46 wheels.

An easy way is to call Nick Jupp on 07828322483. He will have a set or will get a set in sooner or later.
