Dear members,
I have a 1998 E36 318i saloon which has a nice black leather interior. I'm looking for a product that helps keeps the seats in good condition- can anybody recommend a good product? Also the driver seat has a few areas of wear; again, can anyone recommend a company who can restore leather car seats? I live in Southampton.

Hi...I have a number for a great mobile connoliser who could sort this easily and cheaply...but there are several leather conditioners and colour products on the market I have a friend with a shoe shop and he supplied a great product for treating the leather that is used on sofas and he also does a colour polish that works well ....I guess other show shops or sofa shops may do similar....failing that companies such as Autoglym do a leather conditioner etc ------------- E30 Register joint coordinator - Competition Secretary - Contact name Neil for PM and Email - cabrio_e30@yahoo.co.uk - be aware addicted to E numbers |

Hi, I've always had good success with the Gliptone liquid leather products. I recently re-coloured the red leather seats in my E46 cabrio using the scuffmaster product and it brought them back a treat. I also have a 1990 MX-5 and the cleaner and conditioner have kept these seats in good order when most examples have dried/torn. http://www.liquidleather.com/index.html Rich ------------- E46 320D SE Convertible |

see this months mag article LTT Leathercare. You will learn that most of the above refer to use of 'oils' rather than water based products. Read & digest my friend :-) ------------- Tell it how it is the Northern way. |

I just used the Gliptone leather treatment on a white leather interior. Just wipe the area with a damp cloth, rub in the cleaner with a dry cloth, leave 5 minutes and wipe off with damp cloth and allow to dry. When dry use the cream leather treatment bottle and ensure it is adsorbed. I was amazed that the dirt was removed and the cream treatment left a soft finish and wonderful new car leather smell. Do not use too much, less is more. Do a section at a time, for old or badly worn leather repeat the treatment the following day. Good product, worked for me, I am sure there are others! ------------- n |

Hi there A good cheap cleaner is soap flakes with a soft nail brush hot soapy water make sure you condition the leather also after as this removes the oils etc from it as for reconciling leather care in Warrington are are a1 well recomended myself and fellow concourse addicts use them ------------- gerald 323i e36 coupe |

| It could be tough to restore leather if it has wear marks. That might need replacing which will take a pro. |

I was amazed how much I could achieve myself using the right products. Even making holes disappear. I use products from Lederzentrum because I have good experiences and know they work. | Not sure about leather interior restorer places near Southampton but a good way to preserve the seats in the future are to clean and condition them regularly. Also think of getting window tints that have uv and heat rejection |
