Hi guys
I'm in need of some advise with regards to permissible levels of ppm of iron and aluminium in oil.  I have a N57 engine.
Kind regards
Ian

I had my oil analaysed by Motul. You can buy a kit from them and send of a small sample. From that they can detect any potential or actual component failure.

I used Motul for the analysis.  I would like to compare my results with others.

The results are not good or Motul is not good. If the results are not good then you have to decide how much that concerns you and if it does what are you going to do about it. They tested my oil in the Alpina B7 and no issues found. I have the oil changed every 6 months even if I have only done a few hundred miles, dirty oil in a car even if laid up contaminates it according to the Motul expert who tested mine.
