Is the club going to this event? Just asking before I purchase an individual ticket.

@Tim Maltby please can you get in touch re Beaulieu. I’ve tried searching for you as a member but it says no results found. I’m planing on attending this event. Wondered if I could do so as part of the club.
Thanks
Shaun.

Shaun, due to some personal reasons Tim Maltby is currently unavailable. However if you wish to attend Beaulieu with the club, simply go on the Beaulieu website and search for events.

When you find Simply BMW, click on the ticket for participant and put in "BMWCCGB Wessex Region"

It is 16.00 pounds. Turn up at the venue at opening time and you will be directed to the BMW Wessex region section, you may see a wessex region flag flying.

Shaun, i hope you get a positive response but the message I got was that all applications have now been ratified and that the allocated space is full. However, please wait and see what comes back.

This event is organized by the Wessex region and unfortunately (in the instance) a decision made by someone that other regions do not necessarily get notified . I guess you must be in the SE region? I tend to scan the club mag for regions close to me to see if there are events organized by them which I wish to attend. Yes, the weather looks rubbish and some people do not turn up but as I am not the organiser I cant offer any further advice.

Yes Norrie I’m SE region.

Tim has emailed me, no spaces left and oversubscribed.

I think all events should be posted on here. Although the club has regions, it’s not a region specific club. It’s in the club title GB! The members who may live nearby to another ‘region’ can decided for themselves if they want to travel to an event in a different region.

It doesn’t bother me where I park really, I just wanted to be able to support my club and park for the benefit of the club with other members.

@Shaun170 ~ have you looked on the region's page on the  club website? (  https://bmwcarclubgb.uk/regions/south-east/" rel="nofollow - https://bmwcarclubgb.uk/regions/south-east/ )

There are links to other social media e.g. Facebook with links to events  https://www.facebook.com/bmwccgbsussexmeet/events " rel="nofollow - https://www.facebook.com/bmwccgbsussexmeet/events  ;

Hi Shaun, I am geographically in the SE region, but am right on the border. I therefore got the club to put me in the Wessex region as I felt they had better events which interested me compared to the SE.

Apart from the fact that some of the SE means going over the Dartford crossing which always has long delays and a financial implication.

I think the Club does it very best to advertise, but many people have swapped forums for social media groups and the BMWCCGB Wessex has a FB page which is where I saw this event.

If you do attend you will be parked with a general BMW group, but please do come and find us or me. I will be taking my M235i Melbourne red as it looks to be damp and leaving the Alpina B7 under cover in the garage.

Look out for the SE region monthly meets at Tulleys farm, near Crawley they are well attended.

Thanks Norrie. I’ll try and come and find you.

Agree that forums aren’t as busy as they used to be. I’m personally not on FB but occasionally hijack my wife’s account to look at the club pages.

I regularly go to the SE meets at Tullys Farm & the George Pub at Trotterscliff for the Kent side of things.

Not sure why you’d be travelling across the Dartford bridge as there aren’t any SE meets in the direction.

Shaun. there arent any, because no one arranges them, but I am sure much of Essex is in the SE region? Isnt it?

No, SE is Kent, Surrey & Sussex as far as I’m aware.

Well anyway I can be bothered to go to events over that crossing more stealth tax, I go via M25 Heathrow to go North.

I also notice the Beaulieu wanted number of cars for clubs 2 weeks prior to the event and any arriving after 1030 would not be guaranteed a place but you can arrive up to 2pm?

well attended about 50 cars for Wessex region, unfortunately heavy rain around midday drove many away early.

Yes, shame about the weather. Some really nice cars. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many Z4’s in one place. They far out numbered any other model.

Have you seen the price of the entry photos that were taken on arrival? £25 for a digital copy! They’re having a laugh, £25 for a picture of me in my own car LOL

I always ignore those people photographing my car, I wouldn't pay 25 pence let alone 25 quid. They cleared off early as there were only 2 of us left at the end about 4pm. However the poor weather meant I looked around the house and the museum and it had stopped raining by then.

Some of the photos from the Parade Laps at Oulton Park this year are stunning, and well worth the £5

This guy popped up on instagram with a link to his photos of the day. Much better photos and only £9.50 for a digital copy for those that might be interested.
