Hi, guys . Good to be here .
I need some help guys. I px my M2 for a new 2018 M4 competition package in individual colour San Marino blue. I went in yesterday to collect i t   and noticed a few chips out the paint. One on the bonnet at the bulge in the middle.
And a bad chip on the boot lid. They have said to me sorry for the problem !!! 😠😠😠😠 .

But they have said that thet are going to respray the whole bonnet and boot. ??? Should this be ok or will this cause any future issues?? Not happy at all 😡😡😡. Any advice would be great thanks.

If the car was supposed to be brand new then why did it have damage? Under the Consumer protection Act the goods must be fit for purpose. In this case it sounds as if it was not. If the car is a used car it will come with a warranty, however they are supposed to carry out a 147 (I think this is the number) point check.

Therefore, you need to decide why they had a problem in the first place, if you are happy for them to rectify the problem or if not you are entitled to a refund (depending on how long this problem has go on for?).

Any paint repair comes with its own warranty, however this may not run concurrently with any other warranty. The bottom line is do you want them to do the work at their costs, what inconvenience has this caused you? How are they going to compensate you? Have they met the standard laid down by BMW UK and is the vehicle acceptable to you and when the work is completed what happens if you are not satisfied. A call to trading standards at your local authority may help.
