Hi All,

So i have a 12 plate 1 series 116d, driving around last night the rain was horrid, flooded roads and a warning pops up on the screen, "possible imminet failure - Windscreen Wipers".

I stopped, thought it was the fuse and left it for a while. This morning they seem back to normal. Tried to contact BMW but their closed.. handy!

Wondered if anyone has any advice?
Kind Regards,
Daniel Crane

Probably the wiper relay but not right for a 12 plate.  Mine went on my 2000 7 Series and there is nothing scarier than realising your wipers aren't working in the pouring rain (I say "realise" as the automatic activation can be a bit hit and miss in certain conditions).  As a back up, if you can't get it fixed right away, is coat the screen with Rainex or similar as a stop gap in case they pack up when you least expect them to.  You can drive with Rainex as it does bead the water over 40mph but it should be used only to get you safely off the road.

This may be a bit late, not been on the forum for a while. This happened to me about a month after I bought the car Nov.2011 F20(new). Took it to the dealer the day after, it was in for a day and they found no fault recorded. It hasn't happened again since. But lots of other messages have, but I'll leave that as I have just written to BMW customer service so I'll wait for their reply before I sl*g the car off.
