Can anyone help, i have a 328i automatic convertable. I am having problems with the electric roof, it stopped working and everybody i have took it to dont want to know they seem to keep putting me off. 1997 on R reg. Also my dash board lights have gone out on the mileage counter. Please help. Thankyou.

Roof problems are usually down to a micro switch. I'm not too sure whether a diagnostic check wold throw up any faults there, but a decent auto elec would find the the culprit.
There are 3 small bulbs at the back of the instrument cluster which more than likely one of yours has gone.
Easy DIY job, 20 mins to remove cluster replace bulb & re fit cluster.
The magazine recently advised that the steering wheel needs removed for this, not so if you have an adjustable wheel.
