Tell you what Kos - because this was a UK supplied car you should download the fee paying enquiry form, send off a fiver and get photocopies of all the previous logbooks back to 1988.
I've just done this with a 1973 Escort Mexico and I spoke to the car's first owner last Saturday - 33 years after he sold it to buy an RS2000.
I bet the first owner of yours would like to see what it becomes - still going for Porsche V***r green?

this is worse than a resoration becuase i'm modifying it as well, and want to keep it usable as a road car but make sure its strong enough and upto the job etc

it kinda complicates it a bit ! lol

quick up date

whent to see the car today, and i'll let you know whats happening now.

rear beam is off, and is being strengthened, and so are the rear arms, ARB pick up points etc. the diff is now done, rebuilt to a true 50% lock up, e36 back cover is on, and floor is being fabricated for it to mount up to. rear beam in going to be adjustable for camber and toe, the kits available for this only go to about 1.5 degrees, i'm going for one off 3 degree kit, polly bushes on the arms, and subframe mounts, rear beam is being lowered a touch and the angle adjusted, this will help grip and squat for acceleration. rear brace and triagualtion is being done, and will pick up on to the diff mounts. shock top mountings area will be strengthened as well. finaly the cage will be welded in, not bolted.
thats it for now, pics will follow soon with progress. not sure when this stage will be complteted but it wont be too long.

oh yea, one this is all done, the next stage i will be ditching the OE fuel tank, geting set up made for a side exit exhuast and running a boot mounted alloy fuel tank swirl pot and fully apgraded fuel system. it will look good and be functional.

afetr this the car will be back home, inside painted and sound proofed etc, loom go back in and the trim carpets etc will be fitted.

that leavse 2 things to complete the car, paint and engine, colours is decides as previously said, engine will 90% be forced induction, 75% m30 3.5 running 500bhp but that may change...........

i have a vision and a goal, the goal is 500bhp and to be usable and ABUSABLE and happy on the road/track and 1/4 mile, the vision and look is timless so no rush there

"...sound proofed..."

Really?

Think about what you can do for the club, not what it can do for you...
