Hi,
I’m new to mini ownership and have a technical issue with my mini first 1.4 I have been having the following issue.on my 2010 1.4 mini one when starting the car the idle is smooth and normal for around 30 seconds then it becomes rough, the revs drop to 600 ish and oscillate by about 50 rpm and sounds like the car has an exhaust leak.
shut it down and restart the same thing happens, all good for 30 seconds then rough as f. The exhaust system is good. ive changed both vanos solenoids, both camshaft position sensors, the crankcase vent valve diaphragm, all spark plugs and all ignition coils. oil level is good. if I drive the car it drives fine once the rpm is above 2000 ish. I occasionaly get an 02 sensor fault but this does not seem to correlate to the idle fault. No other fault codes. im about to burn the car so please help if you can. |

This is a good example that replacing things in hope is seldom effective, and always expensive! It sounds as if the mixture is too weak, but is of course richened up when starting. I would check all the rubber intake boots and couplings, as an air leak here will weaken the mixture, the additional unmetered air causing a lambda voltahe error.
