Hi Guys

I am new to the forum, looking to own a 1995 BMW E36 328I with 147k on the clock, Not in a perfect condition, but its runs well (Engine, Gearbox & Clutch).

Has got full years MOT and few things has been done to get through MOT such as ball joints, handbrake adjustment, ABS warning light, windscreen washer, and front break hose.

Body wise few rust spots on the rear wheel arches and one on the drive side door.

Following are on the advisories on the mot list

  • Offside Rear Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material (1.1.11 (c))
  • offside inner steering rack joint slight play
  • light corrosion on floor pans
  • both front antiroll bat link rod bushes worn
  • Exhaust mounting defective rear box clamp (6.1.2 (a))
  • exhaust heat sheld fittings deteriated
  • brake discs rusty
  • slight water in offside headlamp
  • Brake pipe corroded, covered in grease or other material both front to rears (1.1.11 (c))
I am looking to do little work at a time to bring the car back to nice state and use it now and then again. I would like to get you guys thoughts and advice, such as what i might be getting my self into, if its worth a  investment and generally anything that will help me decide.

Thanks

Br

You could of course consider buying mine,
1997 328i Cabrio, with hardtop.  Bought new by me so 1 owner only.  About 160K miles but had complete engine rebuild courtesy of BMW after 60K miles due to faulty petrol re-call due to potted piston heads/cylinders.  Regularly serviced by local BMW garage.  MOT virtually clear of advisories. One present problem only in that hood isn't raising & needs new module motor which I'm trying to buy & get fitted now.
Whole car in fab condition otherwise.  MOT due Nov/Dec but will pass.  New tyres with probably about 1000 miles done.  Samoa Blue.  All original Cond & most Invoices.  Can send pics etc.  In Tunbridge Wells. Tony
