As of 08/02/2026
I seem to have found myself (somewhat on a whim)volunteering to take over sitting on the “cumbrian Chair” from Jim France.
Confused
Being new to the BMW car club as well as new to Cumbria i am going to require your patience and help while i sort out the best time and place for regular meeting  and what sort of events, outing and anything else you would like to take part in.
While i admit i know very little about BMW’s i do however know exactly what is required to run a successful region. As i spent over 8 years running the east midland region of the porsche club. And we were also involved with the clubs H/O helping to run national events.

I know Jim held meetings on a Sunday morning at Basecamp farm shop. Was that popular or would you prefer a week day evening meeting ?

Thanks, yes i noticed this forum is hardly used any more, but as at the moment i have no other way of contacting the members. I thought it was worth posting, To try and get the word out. I have also just opened a facebook group for the region.
Regular week-end meets can be problematic in the summer months as it tends to be when all the shows are held.
I do feel the region needs to hold a regular monthly meet. A Thursday evening would work best for me.. but there is no reason why we couldn’t also carry on doing the occasional sunday breakfast meet at the basecamp.
The members are really quite evenly spread out all around cumbria (i’m based east of carlisle) so finding somewhere everyone will be happy with is going to be difficult if not impossible.
