Hello, I am currently 13 months into restoring a 1976 BMW E3 2500 part time and I have a problem getting my seats re-upholstered. Does anyone know if E12 seats will fit my E3 and if much adjustment is involved in making them fit? Or are there other model seats that will go in? Or, any cream E3 seats looking for a new home?

Many thanks in advance, I joined pistonheads.com before here so have been documenting progress there, check out the work to date: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1065824

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi, I too have been restoring my 1973 e3 2500 auto. The interior is velour and trying to find a decent reliable upholsterer appears hard work. I've just spent a fortune on a full strip down and re-paint job. However I decided to upgrade the plain glass with tinted glass that I managed to obtain over the years. I bought some new front and rear seals from Walloth & Nesch which were not cheap! However when it came to fitting them they were wrong so returned only to find there is NO more front seals/gasket anywhere.
I now have a lovely painted car but cannot take to test or put on road without a front window, I've checked ebay sites all over the world but nothing found, I now have to try locate a second hand seal if I can find one. ( the original seals got thrown away by painter as we were confident the new ones supplied by Germany would fit)
Hope you managed to eventually get yours sorted.
Cheers
