I've noticed a couple of scratches along the body work of my E60 5 series which I would like to try and remove without resorting to going to a bodyshop. Obviously I don't want to damaged the paint in anyway but wondered if there are any products on the market which might help me remove them. Gone are the days when I used to use T-cut my on solid paint work of my first car.

You could try Meguiars ScratchX, it's designed to be used by hand rather than polisher but success will depend on how bad they are.

Think about what you can do for the club, not what it can do for you...

if you can feel the scratch with your finger nail it is unlikley you will be able to remove it by hand.   as with all scratch removal, you should measure the amount of clear coat you have to play with (pdg)   are there any freindly enthusiasts near you?? maybe they could assess it for you..   ther are plenty polishes on the market  (eg auto glym  srp)  which contain fillers which would fill the scratch for a temporary fix.  hope this helps.

The scratches aren't that deep, more like just in the lacquer. I did puchase some of the Meguiars Scratch X stuff and I've got to admit that it did a really good job, ok so at a certain angle and light you can still see the scratch fainlty but it's far better than it was.

Honestly if it was a faint scratch you could have just used a cloth to rub toothpaste over it
