Hi, I've had my 1 series bm for just over a year now and have entered the concours twice (se region) in class k. I want to add an official bmw spoiler to the back, but rather than have it painted i want to put carbon vinyl on it. Also i would like to carbon vinyl the official bmw mirror caps, dash board and center console. Finally change the gear and handbreak gaiter to a carbon effect one (unofficial bmw). In short im trying to save money by not buying the ££££££ carbon bmw performance parts, but having the look
If i was to do this, would i move from class K to modified, as ive asked a few people and they are as confused as me as to how far you can change the car to become modified Dan |

Would this be a question in terms of concours rather than the modified section of the club - as I understand there are many different levels of modified and its open to interpretation.....hence why if its relating to concours you need to speak to the concours committee and I think its what was not fitted as standard - hope that helps

At Open Class concours events, modifications have not been penalised for several years. Read the councours rules, which are available from the main website 'Members Area' section.

When I entered the concourse in the modified section I was given 12/20 for originality.
I have never entered another concourse since and will never do so again! Edited by FwordM3 - 28 Aug 2010 at 7:26pm |

Many thanks for the kind words Gerald but I'm well out of concourse now.
There are obviously many speculations about what should/shouldn't be included and I can't be bothered to get into all that sort of thing. I did have a great time at last years S/E concourse though and I shall leave it there |
