Lok at the bottom areas of the dooe linings - this is a favourite place on most cars for massive 'footwell 'leaks.

If any work has been carried out on locks, mirrors, or windows, few garages (including BMW Dealers) bother to replace the waterproof membrane.   Rremoval of these membranes reduces the effect of their self-adhesive edges, and eventually water leaks into the car.

Also check that the drain holes in the bottom of the doors are not blocked.

Did you solve the problem? I suspect it could be / have been the rubber door seals. Recently bought an X3 and the dealer had to fit new seals, not because of leaking but creaking. I was surprised that they hadn't lasted longer.
