Hi, does anyone have any suggestions for suspension options for my Alpina.  The original Bilstein shocks are long gone and the spings need replacing (and Alpina don't supply shocks or spings any more Cry).

Cheers, Chris

Chris. there are a couple of options I can recommend. Firstly BMR Performance based at Turners Hill near Crawley. They have just restored a C2 2.7 and I went with Simon Alcorn ( the alpina register chairman and C2 2.7 owner) to look at it. Fantastic job. The owner Barry Sherward has his own ALPINA and has owned 6. Call Barry on 01293 773 774 to talk about it, please mention I suggested them.

Alternative 2 is Birds 01753 657 444 speak to Kevin Bird, again I have visited and excellent work. www.birdsauto.com

Chris - one other thing. I am in regular contact with Erik Ploss the Sales Director from ALPINA Buchloe. I was talking to him and Andreas Bovenseipen about this parts issue, which is affecting cars like the E46 B3S even. He is having a meeting shortly with BMW UK Limited to see what, if anything can be done.

Thanks, Norrie!!

It's certainly a shame that Alpina temptingly put the suspension parts in their catalogue but then don't supply them!  Given that the Alpina suspension was one of the USPs of the cars, replacing it with another supplier's parts seems just wrong...

Cheers!

I suggest you speak to Simon Alcorn, he has an immaculate C2 and has a wealth of knowledge that I do not have relating to the E30 Sytner conversions. Mark Adkin who did most of these used to stamp his initial on the engine block "MA". There was another chap who did it I am sorry cant remember who that is.

We are sporadically in touch with Mark, he has retired from Sytner now.

Wow, thanks Norrie!!  Top job!   You are much better informed than the two guys I spoke to at Sytner who drew a blank StarStar

I'm hoping to go to the Alpina meet next month on the 9th, might meet you there?

Cheers, Chris

Chris, I do not deal with Sytner. I deal with my contacts in ALPINA Buchloe. I do not abuse requests for information but when I feel I can help Genuine ALPINA owners I try my best to do so. I organised the 9th June 19 meet at MK with Alan Dewick, it is the first time we ever have held anything there so we shall have to see how it goes. I should be delighted to see you.
