Dear all,

You may or may not be aware but myself and Tim Maltby are picking up the E28 register.  I have just asked for this new area to be created for any specific E28 content, be that news, information or questions.

Below is a picture of my E28 before setting of for show last year.

Kind regards,
Mark

Hi
Great to see this area, so here goes

Looking to upgrade the front and rear suspension on my 1987 euro M5
It is making serious crashing noises at speed over bumps.
It has bilstein front and rear suspension, factory i think with blue spring

I am first going to replace the springs with the Oem springs and see if that solves the problem
Have been in touch with Bilstein and they can revalve the springs for me if needed.

Going to change all the bushings for powerflex ones, But going to start with the sway bar bushings first as I dont want too much rattling. Then maybe:

Thrust arm bushingsx2

Control arm bushings upper an lower x4

Also the link arm from the torsion bar has come completely loose??? Which explains part of the problem I was having with the handling and noise.

The rear Suspension is probably going to have the same treatment (no self leveling system on my car).
The plan after that is to get rid of the metric wheels and upgrade the brakes to e31 fronts and e34 rears

My questions are:

1. Do i need any other powerflex bushings for the car not mentioned above and thoughts on stiffness ans naV after.

2. What springs to go with the shocks, STOCK, eibach or H&R for a bit of lowering? Do, the shocks need to be revalved and adjusted depending on which springs I use?

3.Going to replace the shock mounts as well, Though they appear to be in good shape? are there any upgrades/ aftermarket that are an improvement?, the same for the links

4.Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks
