I see there is no mention on the club's 2018 trackday calendar of a Knockhill event.

I appreciate things can't be confirmed until it's all signed etc, but is it definitely not happening, or is it still a possible?  I missed this years event and would be keen to go in 2018

To be honest it was hard work.
Brian the organiser struggled tirelessly until the eleventh hour to fill the places and in the end the club just managed to break even.. it could quite easily have been a financial loss.

2017 was an experiment, we were dipping our toe in the water to gauge its popularity and at the same time taking the trackdays north of the border to try and satisfy a perceived demand.

I have retired now but If it was still down to me to decide its fate I wouldn't run another Knockhill

The problem was, It was on the wrong date for most of the Scottish team as it clashed with two major car shows.

I agree with Campbell above - part of the reason I could not attend.  IMO these things have to be tried more than once before it can be deduced whether it is a success or not - and certainly having it on the same day as the opening day of arguably Scotland's biggest car event wouldn't have helped attendance numbers.

If the club try it again on a more suitable day that doesn't clash with anything, and numbers are still judged to be poor, then no-one can complain if the decision is made to not have any future trackdays at Knockhill

Sorry for the delay in replying to this but I have it on good authority that the Knockhill event is being looked at to run again in 2019. This is a new approach from the club. Obviously there is no more I can say at the moment but it will be posted up as soon as there is anything more concrete.

Thanks
Issy
