Hi all, I have recently been getting the twin yellow lights of the ABS and ASC illuminating my dash. Having had the diagnostics checked, i was told I needed the O/S rear wheel sensor. A quick call to BMW and the guys at work had to pick me up off the floor £197 and lots of little penny's. I was then informed ' You can't get them anywhere else ' therefore leading me to think there could be a monopoly here. Apart from buying second hand can they be bought for less and if so where? The BMW part number is 34521181914 O/S rear.
When I was younger I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said HAPPY. They said I didn't understand the question. I said they didn't understand LIFE !!

Hi
You could try motormec 01603 485163 they are an independent Bmw parts specialist. I purchased my viscous fan coupling & water pump from them for my E46 a lot cheaper than main dealer. They may put you on to somewhere if they can't supply. I just gave them the Bmw part number & they do use realoem to match.

The other places you could also try is GSF car parts & eurocarparts

Hope you find the part you need.

Regards
Rich

Your welcome

If you don't have any luck with those mentioned above if you put in google

Bmw 840ci parts uk

It will bring up a list of 8 series independent parts suppliers/ dismantlers. A company I have used before & they have been at gaydon Bmw festival is quarry motors they are very helpful.

Regards
Rich

Thanks for all the info but I've decided to go with a new one. Second hand their around £100 and a new one £178 (Cotswold BMW ). I could save £78 but you never know how long it will be before it has the same problem as the last one.

Your welcome.
I'm glad that you got something sorted out anyway. It's as you said for the difference between used & new on a part like that it's worth spending that saving on a new part as you will get the 2 year warranty, if you bought a used one from say a Bmw specialist breaker although it would more than likely been tested you would probably only get 30 days warranty for example if any & like you say you don't know how long it will last.

That's how I look at it for my car as well on certain parts, although the last used part I bought was a cd changer from quarry motors for about £35 to replace my broken one & it is still fully working & that was about a year ago.
