I was at the Concours of Elegance at Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh over the weekend. What an amazing show of 60 of the worlds most amazing and rarest cars. I love the sort of graduated colour scheme on this M1, just a stunning looking car This Ferrari 250 GTO - No. 15, was originally built for Stirling Moss to race, but due to an accident he never got to race it, Innes Ireland raced it at Le Mans in 1962 but didn't finish, he did win other races during that season. This is reckoned to be worth £30m - that's £'s NOT $'s This Ecurie Ecosse D Type No. 15 came 2nd at Le Mans in 1957 and worth £15m, the guy sitting in it is the current owner, who at this point was giving it big revs - WoW what a sound, I think almost everyone at the show came over :thumb: This is one of my favourite cars of all time, I think it has to be one of the best looking cars EVER :thumb: Here is a link to my photobucket, where I have over 150 photos :D I did have around 240, but somehow 80 - 90 didn't upload to my bucket not sure why. If you do look through them, for some reason the link takes you to the middle of the set, not the beginning ?:D  so you may have to use the back and forward arrow at the side of the 1st photo. Anyway, the Jaguar pics were taken on the Saturday, which were parked in the palace car park outside. The other cars parked on tarmac - Ferraris, some Rolls & Bentleys including the Bentley Blue Train, + many others, were taken inside the grounds at the front of the palace, and most had been on a tour that day - Sunday, which was the day we (my dad & brother attended) The cars on the grass, were taken in the garden at the back, here were the 60 Concours cars + the Ecurie Ecosse transporter and many Ecurie Ecosse cars from the past and their current BMW Z4 GT3. Dario Franchiti's Indy 500 pace cars were also there (3) (the winner of the Indy 500 gets to keep the pace car), also there was Jackie Stewarts 3 world champion cars, first time all 3 have been together - appaantly. The show was just amazing, cars I will probably never see again, I couldn't even hazard a guess at the total value of all of the cars. The day was made even better by a gorgeous sunny / not a cloud in the sky day. Anyway - best I shut up  here is the link, hope it works, enjoy :D |

What great pictures, looks like you had superb weather too.
The M1 looks like a AHG Studie car, one of only 10 made, I did not know there was one in the UK.

Yes it was a great day, cars like you'll never see again, weather wise - probably one of our best days of the year - braw Excuse my lack of knowledge on M1's - but I've not familiar with AHG Studie cars ? Cars at this show had come from different countries, there were a few from the States, and abroad, not sure where the M1 was from, there wasn't really any information on the cars, only the make & model + owners name and that was it, but I've seen a couple of M1's at other shows in the past, both were red, I've seen various photos, but I think that the sort of graduated colour scheme on this just really made it stand out, and in my eye just even more gorgeous, you could just park it in your garage and just sit and look at it - ALL DAY

There were 10 AHG Studie cars made, a couple with that black/silver finish, some in white with the M stripe, I'm not sure if they were made in any other colour scheme. They were fitted with a body kit to make them look more like the pro cars with a front air dam, wider arches and a rear spoiler. They had an uprated engine to 350 bhp (some of which was gained by simply removing the air filter!) and modified suspension.
There is one black/silver advertised for sale in the USA, although it's been listed for ages and looks pretty grim inside, and I believe one in Holland which may be the car you saw. http://www.canepacollection.com/detail-1979-bmw-m1-ahg-used-10066921.html.
