Dear 6-Series owners,

I'm writing a 12-page front cover feature for a leading UK classic car magazine, celebrating 40-years of the BMW 6-Series, and I'm looking for the following variants to take part:

633

628

635 E12

635 E24

Alpina B9

M635 - (CAR ALREADY SOURCED)

I've provisionally booked Chobham (Longcross) Proving Ground in Surrey on Tuesday, September 15 for the shoot.

It'd be a full day but you'll be treated to lunch, fuel expenses will be covered and you will receive a copy of the magazine and a DVD with all the photographer's images (for your own personal use).

In addition, you'll be interviewed about what it's like to own your model and have a chance to leisurely spin your car around the private test track.

If you're interested in having your car included, then please feel free to contact me on the E-mail address or telephone numbers below.

Best wishes,

Ross Alkureishi

I think if you want an Alpina B9 you might ask on the Alpinaregister.com or on the Alpina owners FB page, but that is a closed forum. Do you want me to post it up for you?

Any chance I could come and have a look when you do the shoot, I only live 30 minutes away.

Kos here has a 635CSi. There is a red 628CSi in the club (it was at Gaydon) but good luck finding a 633CSi now. The best place to find one is on Ebay or Car & Classic.

If you want some proper, impartial advice on these things without using the usual trade sources, send me a PM and I'll help out. There are two distinct generations of E24 and both are very different with very few interchangeable parts even though they look almost identical. The E12 based version ran until May '82 and the E28 based car from then on. Only the bonnet, boot lid, some glass and minor bits interchange - everything else is different. I worked on quite a few of these over the years!

Hello all,

Thanks for the replies.

So far I have:

M635
Alpina B9
E24 635 (Kos)

Does anyone know who owns the 628CSi that was at Gaydon?

Ta,

Ross.
