F31 Tailgate problem

   I’m having trouble with the tailgate of my 2015 320d touringIf I use the lever above the number plate it opens ok and will close using the close button
If I use the fob remote it opens about 2 inches then closes again
If I use the lever down by the bonnet release catch again it just opens then closes again
I’ve replaced the battery in the fob remote
I’ve been through the iDrive system to adjust the tailgate opening height-makes no difference
Don’t know what to try next☹️
Anyone any ideas?

	Have the tailgate struts ever been replaced - maybe they're too weak to lift it from a fully closed position?
