I have a BMW 2012 40k miles 1 series convertible (E88), When I go faster than 65mph the car starts to shake / vibrate & the faster the car goes the more violent the shaking and vibrating gets, at 80+mph its like sitting on a massage chair. I had the front wheels / tyres balanced last Thurs but this has not made any difference, should I get the rear wheels / tyres balanced as well or should I ask the BMW dealer ( Its got a 12 month warranty) to look at the Shocks / Dampers and Springs.

I would personally get the alignment checked. The wheels can be perfectly balanced but if they aren't aligned properly you would still get some vibrations. I believe most placed can do this, however a lot of people swear by 'Hunter' alignment. But these are much more expensive, as they take into account camber and caster as well as toe i believe.
My first guess would be to have the toe checked which any decent tire/wheel place should be able to do.

I went to the local tyre dealer and they said I have 2 buckled wheels, this is not my doing as BMW sold me the car in this state so its time to make a complaint to the dealer Mgr tomorrow.

They will probably fob you off with a story that the warranty does not cover damage by the owner and that the wheels were perfect at sale.
When my Z3 was still under new car warranty I was told by BMWGB that the well-known water leaks at the corners of the screen/door interface were 'to be expected' as 'it's only a convertible.' The days when BMWGB had any integrity are long gone, so do not be surprised. |

The car is booked in for sometime next week to check the 2 wheels are buckled, The sales lady who I saw said the wheels should be replaced under warranty, If BMW service say "no" I will buy a new set of nonn-BMW alloys & wider than normal tyres on the following Sat.
