Hi I’m new to the BMW club and forum but hoping to be a proactive member.

I’m have a problem with my beloved 330d…..a temp issues me thinks.

After 10 minutes or so from clod the temp needle sit right in the middle of the temp gauge where it’s supposed to be, but if it one of the few hot and sunny days we’ve been having the gauge may go up a little and I’m talking about 1m or so.

When it does move I lose the turbo power no grunt no power, the car will still rev etc but no real grunt or turbo power, now if I switch the car and start it again straight away the powers back as if nothing happened then after a few miles gone again.

When the power goes there’s no drama no smoke it’s just like a switch being switched off and like I say restart the car and it switches back on again no delay…

It’s only when the car is being asked to work a little this goes if I put the caravan on we’ve lost the power within 15 minutes of towing and again switch it of and on again you’ll have the power back for couple on minutes then gone again.

This has also happened when I’ve gone into a roundabout a bit quick it like a switch giving out to early or if there’s a controlling relay it breaking down and then resetting when you switch ignition of and on again.

I put it in to the garage that ID’ed the electric fan wasn’t working, £500.00 later with new fan fitted! This still didn’t solve the issue; garage couldn’t find and faults after running the car up to temp but like I said you have to put in under load.

If anyone has any ideas where I should be looking I’ll post the results should I solve this frustrating problem.

Thanks for reading and thinking about this……
