I have recently replaced my 2013 520D Luxury Touring with a 2015 525D Luxury Touring. I am enjoying the added power, and all is well with one exception. The 525 has a persistent low pitch whistle at anything over about 15mph. My local dealer (Chandlers of Hailsham) has investigated and suggested that the only relevant difference between the 2 cars is that the the 525 has 2 air scoops cut out of the front under tray, presumably to increase air flow for the bi-turbo. Does anyone have a similar experience? Any other ideas?

No idea Paul...
Depending upon how loud the whistle is, could a pedestrian close to the car hear it as you drive past at 15mph. They might get a sense of where it's emanating. Also, could you very temporarily blank those scoops off and just drive it briefly down the road? I'm sure a very brief cover up won't do any harm. |

Are you sure this is not the high pitched noise of your turbos cutting in? Try opening the window and pushing up the revs whilst in neutral. Is the exhaust system different so are designed to give a power noise?
