I have a filthy soft top, I've now had three sessions with Autoglym cleaner and there's still green residue ingrained in the fabric.

Can anyone recommend a better way of cleaning this?

I use a non caustic TFR diluted down & a scrubbing brush, working in sections at a time & rinsing off with a pressure washer. This as always worked for me in the past at a mercedes main dealers when I worked there & I still use the same method to this day in my business. Soft tops should never be folded down & stored when wet as that is what causes them to go green & rot.

Thanks.

Where's the best place to get non-caustic TFR?

Hi stew

I got the one that I Use from a company called uk valet supplies from eBay & I got 25 Ltrs. Which was about £30 including delivery. They do 5 litre sizes as well. They supply to the trade & public.

I have had no problems with it staining the paintwork or trims.

Hope this helps

Maybe it might be worth giving them a call as they may recommend using something else or they may have the correct product. If you do call them it maybe worth while mentioning what you have already tried. They may also have the waterproofer / renovator for finishing off.

First stop, try Johnsons baby shampoo and a not too firm scrubbing brush.
Highly recommended by the soft top fraternity.
Always try the economy version (cheap) option first.
