You may already be familiar with A-Plan Insurance as we have been established for nearly 50 years and we have over 65 branches situated across the UK.

More specifically, the Thatcham branch specialise in performance, modified, imported, classic and prestige car insurance and pride ourselves on delivering the very best in customer service and having worked closely with motor clubs throughout the years, we can offer a range of insurance polices including cover for modifications, agreed value, limited mileage polices and some specialist additional benefits to your insurance including enhanced courtesy cars and excess protection.

As the BMW Car Club GB’s account manager I would be delighted to assist all club members personally for your BMW or other insurance needs.

As well as specialist facilities for BMW Car Club members, we will provide Free Excess Protect cover for all new motor insurance policies. In the event of a claim you’ll get your excess back within 14 days – normally worth £36.00!

I hope my presence on here will be of assistance please feel free to call me personally at the branch on 01635 874646 or PM me if you have any questions.

Clare Ironside

Phoned around for fully comp insurance on my newly acquired 1999 E36 M3 Evo and had quotes ranging from £470 (Admiral) - £560 (Adrian Flux), so gave A-Plan a call in Thatcham and was very pleased with the quote of £268 including my wife as a named driver for 3,000 mile pa.

Oh, and I've joined the club!

Cheers
Andrew

I can confirm my Alpina B7 was quoted 900 pounds fully comp by Direct line. Aviva did not recognise Alpina B7 as a brand. Churchill said my car was a 750i. Admiral said it was a 740i.

Why mess about with these muppets, press this, press that and some moron in a call centre who does not drive? Just call A plan and speak to Clare! I saved a serious amount.

I tried A PLAN, and for my 1994 m3 and could not get a classic quote about 2 years ago . I was 52 years old with a clean licence ? I stayed with Classic line. Maybe its a post code thing ?Smile

Dave, it would be impossible and unethical to try and analyse individual's offers. However, insurance quotes are based on a revolving fund, which effectively means that if there are lots of claims premiums will go up. I do believe that there is a post code lottery. I know a friend of mine moved from Horsham where I live to Redhill 20 miles near to London and their premium went up.

I would suggest that you try again with A plan when you are up for renewal it is just a call. But I do accept that they cannot guarantee for everyone, every time.

I recall being told by one insurer that although I park in the grounds of where I live and it has a 10ft high wall, CCTV and electric security gates, they had no category for this and so it was classed as parked "on the road". The flip side when I had it in a garage was I was told "there is no discount for that as you car can only be stolen with the keys".

It is no just down to price why I use A Plan, those examples are questions which I just don't want to get involved in an argument about, using A plan means that evaporates, which suits me fine.
