F31 Radio system problem

   2015 F31 320d touring.The radio has never been very good at picking up signals in either digital or analogue but I now have lost control of all the functions. The system keeps turning itself on and off, and all options, Sat Nav, Media etc cannot be selected or will come up.
Has anyone had this problem and does it require a new control module and a reset. If so is it a home project or will a specialist be required and if so can anyone recommend a specialist near Preston?
