F30 Exterior Door Handle Issues

   A few weeks back i caught my door by the handle as it was closing because i left something inside. since then my exterior door handle doesn’t work. i either have to open the window and open it from the inside or go to the passenger side and reach across. the handle feels loose, like it isn’t connected to anything. 
I’ve taken off the door panel and had a look to see if i could see the problem (thinking the bowden cable had come loose or something) but i couldn’t see the problem. it might be in the handle assembly but i couldn’t get that far as i didn’t want to take the door apart to the point i couldn’t re assemble it. 

If anyone could shed some light on my issue or recommend somewhere near Swindon/ Chippenham that could have a crack at it (without charging through the roof) i would really appreciate it!
