   The car is 325i, 2996cc petrol. It seemed to be a small problem last week. The car was making a very slight pinking type noise but diesel-like in tone when under load at low revs, so slight that I could only hear it with the hood and windows down, no radio on and in a confined space like the steep country lane near my home. It was also a bit lumpy on start up. Then, last Saturday, it all went ballistic. The car started but ran so badly it felt like only one or two of the cylinders were firing. The engine management light came on and I turned off straight away.
The car went in to the main dealer on Tuesday and was fixed with six new coil packs, six new injectors and a new set of plugs. The bill was £1350.00.
Has anyone else come across this problem? The car is only just over four years old, with 31,000 miles and is run almost exclusively on Shell V power petrol.
