Hi , am new to the forum and this is my first post..! I bought an e91 330d M Sport tourer auto last July and am very happy on the whole with its speed and over all performance. The only thing I have to complain about is the amount of diesel its drinking and round town it drives like an old school bus...as in not very crisp responsive power and seems to take forever to decide which gear it wants to drop down into when I put my foot firmly down on the accelerator. On the motorway its a different story, it pulls like a train and seems to enjoy it streching its legs. Can anyone suggest any re maps for increased responsiveness or fuel economy improvements. There are so many companies out there but don't want to take my beloved £20k car to a bodge artist who will knacker it for me. I was thinking of AC Schnitzer UK or E maps....???Any advice would be handy! Wellsy. |

I think a chat with a few members with different remaps would be a good place to start, maybe even get to a regional meet. I read an article in Straight Six last month as JeffH had his car mapped by Evolve (who offer a 15% discount to club members) and he seems very pleased. Evolve do get a very good write up for remapping the E46 M3 and that's where mine will go when the time comes.
Whether the gearbox brain can be tuned to make changes quicker and more decisive, I'm not sure. If it is just an auto with no flappy paddles etc, there my be someone that provides a retro fit kit (maybe Alpina) to give you more control over the shifts. I think once it is mapped, you'll have quite a beast! |
