Hi, I have a 2003[Dec] E46 M3 with standard 18" wheels. Unfortunately, the previous owner dowsn't appear to have taken that much care with them and the fronts in particular are looking a little worse for wear (stained from brake dust).
However, when I have seen some refurbished wheels, the shadow chrome look appears to be none existant and the wheels look to be just plain silver.
Does anyone know of a good wheel repair person or company in the Midlands area that can refurb my front wheels and give me the shadow look?

I've contacted Pristine for an estimate, many thanks to you for the recommendation, I await their response.
Also, contacted the Alloy Wheel repair company that is on the list of cmpanies offering us discounts. Anyone used them at all?

Another very good point about Pristines service that not many people know, is that if the rim is off a volume model -ie E46 M3-Pristine have approved stockists that have some refurbished rims in stock, so you can exchange your rims for refurbished without having your car off road for a week.

Finally got a response from Pristine. No exchange for M3 wheels and 109 + vat per wheel to refurb compared to 250 + vat from the Alloy Wheel repairer in the club's North West listing. hhhmmmmm, are they worth the extra and the fact that I somehow have to put the car on 4 axle stands whilst they do the wheels?

Lepsons in Gillingham, Kent have done 100's of M3 wheels including mine.
They come back like brand new, diamond cut to perfection.

I've taken the plunge and booked the car in for Thursday this week. I've chosen the Alloy Wheel Repair company that advertise in our member only section. 250 + vat.
As mine are not the 19" wheels, no diamond cut finish necessary. Let's hope the smoked chrome looks OK afterwards. I'll post some pictures for others to see.

I had my wheels done on Thursday by The Wheel Specialist in Nottingham and I have to say the result is amazing.
They started off my removing all previous finishes and then stove enammeling the wheels black (yes, black). The painter then hand finished the front of the wheels by spraying them with a silver paint and the finish is absolutely amazing. I didn't think it would look as good with gloss black inner wheel and the smokey chrome finish on the front but it's great. I can honestly recommend them to anyone and I think that someone from the club was going to see them today. I asked if they would consider a discount scheme for the club and the response was positive. The owner's name is Mark Harnden and he is on 0845 302194 or mark.h@thewheelspecialist.co.uk if anyone is interested. Now how do I get photos of the wheels on the forum for you to see?
