Just a note to say thanksyou for all the good wishes that I received lately. Nice to have so many peopl who care.
Currently I am now about 90% recovered, having a box of electronics embeded in my shoulder to enable my heart to pump properly. Seems the bottom half of it was not talking to the top half due to an electrical block. An hour watching the surgeon hack lumps out of me and insert yards of wires into my heart was quite interesting and seems to have done the trick. So for the moment, the only side effects are that I can run up the stairs witjout turning grey and gasping for air, and I have a problem typing, which may go away after a week or so.
Have a great Holiday.

Howard, please make sure you put yourself and your family and your health before any other commitments. Life and time passes quickly and it is important to do, where possible those things one can and wants to, so take it easy.

This has only recently become all apparent for me as a very good friend of nearly 40 years and ex work colleague has just had a leg amputated and is also going blind. He spent a life time doing things which were "important", perhaps a lesson to us all to slow down and think?

My sincere wishes for your recovery and also a massive thank you for all the unseen and under appreciated work you have done for this Club, which would be less enriched without your contribution.

Howard... saddened to hear of your being unwell and for the need for an 'op', but happier now that we know you are rapidly on the mend.

Take care and a very Happy Christmas.

Best wishes

Never realised so many people thought so much about me. Very flattered and thankful.
Now my holiday comes to an end on Tuesday next (9th January) when I will be off to the club office to make final preparations for launching many updates for the club website. Its been a long standing wish of mine to have a more comprehensive website.

Lots of it the public never get to see, as its neary all internal for our staff to run the club on. It may just be the time when I have achieved this ambition, to stand back a bit and let someone else have the fun of doing it. Deadline 2020 but hopefuly sooner? Any volunteers? Webmaster. North East Region Chair, Club General Manager in my spare time.  Wife and sister in law to chaufer sround in between.
Not much chance.

A friend of mine used to say" Just when you get used to using your tools, they stop working!"
Lots of truth in that. Mine stopped years ago so I now have to do sometyhing else for fun.
Only joking, and apologies to any ladies reading this twaddle.Wink

I had a similar pacemaker/monitor/defibrillator fitted in May, which made a big difference to me, and over the last few months the enhanced circulation when I am sleeping seems to have also improved the muscle tone in my legs - well worth the trouble.  It is a pity that I cannot now use an electric welder, due tothe risk of its magnetic field inducing voltages in my heart wiring.

The only doubtful thing is that the magic box carries the statement that it was 'Made in Italy' - I just hope that it is made to a higher standard than most other Italian products!

I have also just had the lenses of both eyes replaced, due to cateracts which had been caused as a side-effect of my cardiac medication - probably a sign that I have lived beyond my throw-away date! They made a huge difference, and apart from now having the eyesight of a twenty-year-old, I can drive at night, which severe dazzle had made impossible for years.
A Z3 is not just for Christmas - it's for life!
