Well folks we as a register are going from strength to strength and members joining each day.

I would like to that you all for brining the 5 reg to what it is today.
Gaydon should be excellent this year.

I'm considering a big decision for the best for the register which i will be talking to the club about shortly and will keep you all up to date shortly

Many thanks Ian

Have come to a big decision over the running of the 5 register.

I have for a wee bit now decided i can not carry on as your register chairman due to work and private commitments.

I do not have enough spare time to commit and properly run the register in the best interest for you as the members.

I will remain a member of the 5 register.

Anyone who wishes to step in to the forefront and register themselves as the chairman please do so by contacting the club and stating your interest.

It is in your interest that someone puts there name forward so that the reg can remain as a fuctioning reg if no one takes over the i dont know what will happen the club may take over and run i can not say.

I will be attending Gaydon this year i have got hotel booked and holls booked for this great occasion

Thanks Ian

I have e-mailed a copy of this to the club and am awaiting ther reply

Hi, I have just rejoined the club, have a e28 and just finishing a 635, I wondered if any one has an idea on the history or my latest purchase, a 1986
M535 fitted with  AlpinaB10 engine & box, and made as a potential track car (reg SYD 513R)
lot of the work was done by Fritz Bits(brakes)
but the total conversion must of cost thousands,
car tests at 271 BHP and is in very good condition apart from one inner wing(soon be sorted) would appreciate any info thanks  Gary

Ian - guess you need to email him or call

The 5 series now is interesting as have E12, E28 as classics, E34, E39 as great cars in their own right and the now the newer versions so will be a job for someone to try and cover all of them

Good luck

hello ian its sean bishop have just read your postings and will gladly take your offer of help with the other "e" models. As you probably know i want to try and make the 5 series register more like a group of friends getting together, to pass on information and help to other like minded people and to try and hold meetings or get togethers on a fairly regular basis. If any members are interested in a meeting in the staffordshire, west midlands area then please let me know and we will see what we can arrange.

Hi all,

Just s quick post to "register" my E61.

It is a 2007 520d. I originally bought it as a company car 3 years ago, but so pleased with it, i deceided to pay the balloon payment and keep it a bit longer.

It is currently at 119,000 miles.

I've had installed a "DPT" tuning box module - which has boosted the power just enough to make it "interesting".

Apparently
Standard BHP: 177 Standard Torque: 350
Tuned BHP: 212 Tuned Torque: 400
BHP Increase: 35 Torque Increase: 50

But as I've not had it on a rolling road, i can't verify.

Cheers

Philip (North Yorkshire)

Hi. I have rejoined the club after a few years.
I have an E28 M5 1987. Unfortunately it has been only driven about 1500 miles in the last 4 years and been sitting for the last 6 months. Does anyone know a specialist in the London area (west london) that will know a thing or 2 about these? I would appreciate any leads. Thanks

Fruther info. The problem with it is that the brake calipers seem to stick after driving it a few miles and the car will not move. The brake pedal seems to get drawn in as I drive. Do I just need to grease them up?
