Hi All

We have a BMW 700 from the early 1960s (62 I think) which we are having restored to as original a state as possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction for paint colour codes (any for the period/model in question) and also where I met find an original dashboard (left hand drive)?

Many Thanks

Michael

Hi - paint should be easy enough - what colour is the car and do you you have the chassis number as Mobile Tradition should also be able to confirm

Re dashboard and especially LHD you may need to look in Germany or mad as it seems ask the dealer to see if still available - if they have several they may be sensible money

Your problem is trying to keep the restoration costs sensible given the potential value when finished

Good luck

Many thanks Cabrio, the car is currently maroon (an old respray). Will get the chassis number. What dealer do you refer to? We bought this as a private sale in E Europe.

Finally got the chassis number (760748). Looked at Mobile Tradition and they may have some parts I need. What's the best place to get an age appropriate paint code? Thanks.

For each year there were only so many paints produced, do you know the original colour, ie. red, ivory, silver what your colour was?

I have 100's of booklets and pamphlets which came with my 700 so may be able to help?
