What has happened to the Irish Region part of the club there has been no posts for a year now and I see in this months club mag that there is nobodys name for the Irish Region has the person stood down or something, its seems to be abit of a shame.

Cheers,

It may just be that the person running is not an IT person, is it listed in the mag etc

As I recently joined the BMWCC, I'm wondering is there any activity in the Irish section at all. I am enjoying driving my first BMW. I'm based in Co.Wexford. There are few car clubs in Ireland anyway, at least that i know of ! Lots of vintage clubs, 3 in my area alone and vintage days, nearly every weekend for 6 or 7 months of the year but little or no events, runs/drives for plain old car nuts. Its a shame. I read with envy, both in the club magazine and on the forum of events all over the UK.Once monthly pub meets too, they seem to be a great hit. I worked in the hospitality industry for years, i'm sure one would be easy to organise. The interest needs to be there however. I read somewhere, the club is run by enthuasists for enthusiasts. Therefore, is it that the Irish section members need to get active ?

Declan - for all these meets and events it needs someone or a group to get together to help each other organise and coordinate - if you get people with a common interest it is surprising how it comes together - not easy at first but pays off....are you interested in helping

Hi,
Any more news on this. I joined the BMWCC and I own a 1995 e34 518i. I am enjoying driving it. It is my very first BMW. I live in Athy, Co Kildare. It would be nice for a new meet somewhere. How can I get a Irish region car badge, Eric.
BMW are cool.

Eric - I think all the Irish region needs is someone to take control and organise events then they will be able to get some stickers from the office

It was a long time ago when I bought my M635 around 2004 that I worked hard to get the club members in Ireland to work together and revitalise the BMW Club scene in Ireland. The M635 unfortunately had to go last back end,  but I had hoped that the Irish Section was still active.
Unfortunately I have not been around for a number of years, along with other members who used to run the region with great enthusiasm.
I looked in today to see what was happening, and was a bit sad to see that this forum was so bereft of members. Seems like the Irish no longer go on line, which is a great pity. Not only do they not post here, but its the same in other forums where they used to post.
Must be a lesson to learn here somehow.
