Has BMW ever replaced the 8-Series?
I think the new 6-Series is a fine car but isn't a direct replacement...
What do you all think?

The e31 was IMO, a bit of a statement by a newly invigorated and confident BMW, to make a high tech top end car. It was also used as a development car for the e38 (7 series). This all coincided with BMW's new development building known as the 'Fitz' (I think) Centre. Another development car that went into production, that can be traced there, is the Z1.

Jeff, I understand that the 8-Series was manufactured for 10-years  (1990-2000). Do have any idea how many were made?

Waiting with interest, to see reply, as I have a 1994 model, and I think sooner or later I may need to replace the drvier's seat; not much life left in the seat springs..

M8 - of course there is the 850CSi with the V12 M Power engine but BMW shelved plans to make an out and out M car. There is a photo doing the rounds of an M8 in red with a wide bodied kit on it etc but i have never seen this car in BMW Mobile Tradition.

Welcome aboard. Yes. Quite often get positive comments when filling up at petrol stations, or in carparks. Can be a bit of a head turner too. Once saw a guy do a bit of a wobble on his bicycle.
