Got a bit fed up with indifferent service from my local dealer. Any thoughts on BMW dealers in Yorkshire who are interested and can service M cars??

Find a good independent with ex bmw techs, that way you wont pay through the nose when work is required...

However despite the aforementioned advice, if you vehicle is still covered by BMW warranty or extended warranty, check the dealer is accredited by BMW Warranty otherwise it will invalidate it and that could cost more than a main dealer potentially.

Selby is no problem if service is good. Car is out of warrenty in January and our friends at BMW york have not really been interested despite me having purchased the 5 year service package when i bought the car from them. I suppose I've got to stick with them to protect my consumer rights (?) but compared with service I received from Porsche Leeds with my previous car they really are useless. I suppose its just the service reception people who are not enthusiasts but I did start off this question by wondering if there are official BMW dealers who specialise in M power and can relate to owners? Did you purchase the Service package from BMW UK or from the dealer, ie:- it is an offering and contract between the dealer (BMW whoever York) and yourself? If it is with BMW UK it must be transferable, indeed even if it was with the dealer what if you moved to another part of UK. Suggest you check the contract?
If you are unhappy with the service at any BMW dealer speak to the CRM, customer relations manager, if they are not based at that branch (if multiple dealership) find out where they are and call them directly. Most dealerships have a weekly management meeting which includes Sales and Service Management and parts. The CRM should take up your case. If this failed speak to the dealer principal. If this fails contact BMW UK at Farnborough. If you have a full BMW service history and have done less than 100K miles you can still purchase Warranty from BMW UK Limited, if you are worried about potential high cost repairs for failing parts, this can help safeguard you by paying a monthly premium. Note do not take the Annual contract if your car is likely to exceed 100K as this for fully comprehensive cover will not be renewed. If you have done less than 100K and go on a continuous direct debit monthly payment there is no upper limit on miles unless you break the contract, which can be terminated by 1 months notice at anytime. Warranty excludes certain items depending upon the level of cover. Edited by Norrie - 18 Dec 2017 at 12:53pm |

I bought my car (secondhand) from a BMW dealership in London. It came complete with a 5 year service plan. I have had no trouble utilising this with my local dealership in Oxfordshire. The record at BMW UK for my car clearly shows the plan, so going to another BMW dealership ought not to cause you any problems.
