Looking at the main club web page the South East region covers:
"Welcome to the South East Region. This Region incorporates the BN, CT, DA, EN, GU, HA, ME and TN postcodes."

I am in Horsham , West Sussex (RH post code) , and only 10 mins from your Kingsfold pub meet , but what club region covers my post code?

Afternoon,
RH postcode will put you into South East region, however, you can attend any regional meet if you wish.

There are no meetings in the South EastCry, you would be much better off joining the Wessex region, they actually do something.

I'm confused....what's the monthly meet that Selwyn posts up in the SE Region section....

"the next meal is on SATURDAY MAY 13th 7pm for 7;30 meal
THE OWL AT KINSGSFOLD
DORKING RD
RH12 3SA
please let me know by thursday 11 if you wish to come"

Unfortunately a Saturday night is hard for me to get a pass for

Selwyn used to be the SE area western side rep but resigned some while ago.
Although I gather some people do still go to this.
For me it would be a 100 mile round trip.

This one confuses me, Kingsfold is in West Sussex and not the SE region. Therefore, protocol dictates, does is not, that it should be at least mentioned to the regional chairman? However, I am unsure who actually attends this meet as apart from Selwyn I have never met anyone who does?

I don't go as it is on a Saturday night and most weekends I am doing something car related, elsewhere. I see now harm in it if it actually attracts anyone?

Also for anyone who knows Horsham it has many far better eating establishments and pubs in this area and the OWL tends to be a bit down the scale.

To be honest I'm not interested in a bite to eat. I'd rather meet up for a chat with some like minded car nuts and maybe go for a drive and drink at the end of it.

Well when someone organises a dinner at 1930 on a sat night there is not much chance of a run out after?

Where are you from?

Thanks the the explanation Selwyn. I belong to other car clubs and I fully understand your issues with trying to get members to attend shows now. I'll keep an eye on the forum events page and see what's going on.

I am slightly confused as for the last 6 years I believed that living in Horsham, West Sussex I was in the Wessex Region?
If people wish to attend a pub or any other meet no matter if dining or non dining that is good.

I have now had an opportunity to establish which region Horsham is in, it appears by a quirk of some strange postcode lottery it may well be in the SE region. If indeed that is the case then please accept my apologies.
However, it does not matter very much as any member can attend any event in any region.
The problem is the size of the region the SE stretches down to Margate or somewhere? The Wessex to Dorset. The Club has suggested micro regions, but when I enquired about the RH12 region there were only 6 members.
We do not need to argue over the quality of the food at the OWL, what suits some will not suit others. For me Saturday night is never any good as I am at car related events almost every weekend, mostly not club related.
I hope that the club finds someone to take of as the SE region chairperson, in the mean while those who find the Kingsfold meeting of use and interest will no doubt continue to attend.

Ok by definition I am totally wrong. it would appear that 4 years ago the regions were redefined by post code under the instruction of the Chairman. Therefore I may have been in the Wessex but was then officially in the SE. The geography of the post codes seems to make little or no sense as Brighton which is further east than Horsham is in the Wessex region?
There is talk of a potential SE group at Canterbury but that is nearly 80 miles from me each way and about 2 hours via the M25.
