Hi all,

** Admin - Please move this if i've put it in the wrong section and apologies if so

Thought it was about time I put a project thread together for the car - E39 Champagne I (530i Sport)

I've owned it now for just over 5 years, had a E36 316i before that for 4 years.

The E39 is the daily drive at the moment and has been for 5 years but the intention is to run it for the rest of the summer then garage it and start a proper refurbishment

Fast forward 5 years . . . . . . Nothing that much has changed really - I didn't want to mod it to much other than small cosmetic bits, more of an OEM+ touch

Car has been maintained throughout but recent things of note that I've done are;

New brake set up;

CCV has all been replaced along with the upper and lower intake boots - Think there may be an air leak someone along the line so this will probably end up being done again shortly;

All 4 wheel arches have been stripped down, cleaned, undersealed, all plastics cleaned;

[img]
14 years worth of muck

Intravee set up;

Always try and keep it clean - easier said than done with a black car;

Last weekend started getting it ready for the shows;

And a couple of novel ones;

Up coming is;

Wheel refurbishment - booked in for this coming Wednesday

Electric folding mirror upgrade

Full interior refurbishment - this will probably be after show season

New rear bumper - cracked

New front bumper - stone chipped, I did a repair which worked but being far to OCD I'm going to replace it

Numerous mechanical odds and sods and being an E39 inevitably electrical too

Thank you for the replies

Anyway as an update. Car went in on Thursday to have the wheel refurbished (factory standard).

Quick couple of pictures;

This weekend I'll be coating them with Gyeon Q2 Rim, new ///M emblems, new centre caps and new wheel nuts.

I'll update then with some proper pictures

Are you a member of the 5 forum? If not, get yourself over there because not a lot seems to happen on this one, which I found surprising..!
