As you will be aware, many areas of France are currently flooded, with road closures.  One such is the area around the A10 and A71 junction to the west of Orleans, a route often used by tourists travelling towards the south-west of France - and me!

Mike, are you going that way soon, or even currently?

Last weeks problems re fuel supplies seems to have died down considerably, but I know that around Orleans was very disrupted with autoroute closures yesterday, Saturday. I was helping to guide a friend to alternative routes who was driving back up north from the Dordogne via the A10 etc to Rouen.

I see today that there are still closures on the A10 and A71. You probably have this already, but I found this site useful with 'live' real time traffic maps, cameras etc. for French autoroutes.

Safe travels and best wishes,

Peter

Hi Peter

I can only suggest use of N roads from Chateauroux via Bourges and Montargis, which should keep as far away from the affected areas as possible.

Last weekend we went south to Pau, and found no fuel problems whatever, but no doubt the next fuel strile will bite harder than the last.

Thanks Mike,

I routed my friend up the A20 via Vierzon, over on the A85 to Tours, then onto the A28, past Le Mans and north to Rouen. As she had 2 youngsters in the back, she wanted to make the best time she could.

No problems, thankfully.

Best wishes

Peter
