Hello! I see you've just joined, so welcome!

I presume you mean that you are having a look at a D4 with a view to - possibly - buying? Unlike me, there are others on the forum with vast experience and knowledge. However, one thing I am aware of is that being 'in warranty' or having a good warranty on a used car is, for the not the not-so-technically experienced, a wise move.

As you probably know, Alpina's come with a 2 year warranty, as opposed to BMW's 3 year one. If you're looking at a 2015 car, chances are it is still in its original 2 year manufacturer's warranty. If its just out of warranty and being sold through a dealer then you'll have a year's used car warranty included.

Take for example
the Alpina Estoril Blue 2015 D4, FP65ZFG, with 12,446 miles currently with Sytner Nottingham - the only 2015 D4 I can find for sale currently. That specific car was registered in December 2015, which means it's still in manufacturer's warranty anyway. DVLA records show that it's first year tax ran out on 01 December 2016, so it's not been on the road (legally, or in private hands) since then.

If that's the car in question, then it looks fantastic and with only £12k miles on the clock, it's still very much in it's first flush of youth! And I have to say, there is something - for me anyway! - rather attractive about a speedometer that is marked up to 200mph!

Sorry I can't be of more technical help... good luck with the search. Let us know how you get on. (Have you had a look on http://www.thealpinaregister.com ?)
Cheers

Peter

Not sure i'd be dropping big money on a diesel right now.  With the amount of diesel hate across Europe, additional taxes, higher parking prices, emissions scandal, etc, i can see their values plummet faster than a tart's knickers on a Friday night.
